Eyewear Boutique and Optometrist


Challenge

An eyewear boutique and optometry practice in New York City wanted to increase exam appointments and reduce no-shows. At the time, their website was not mobile-friendly, their website was practically invisible to search engines, and they were using a closed proprietary system for their POS and patient management.

One of the restrictions placed on whatever solution I designed was that they would continue using the closed proprietary system.

Solution

I worked closely with the owners to devise a four-pronged solution:

  • Rebranding the company and rebuilt their website on Squarespace to better convey their brand and brand experience.

  • Implementing Acuity Scheduling for them, a HIPAA-compliant solution, customizing it to their needs, and monitoring its efficacy.

  • Introducing them to an expert SEO/SEM partner agency to monitor and increase their online visibility and to manage their monthly advertising spend.

  • Creating a comprehensive Google Sheet spreadsheet to identify trends and patterns, to help make better staffing, marketing and forecasting decisions.

Results

We increased online exam bookings more than 420%, increased first page search engine visibility, generally streamlined the entire business workflow, and increased revenue year over year.
